Sue is a late comer to the art world seeking a hobby when she had to retire early from work due to ill health. She has progressed her art by taking lessons from local art teachers and one or two holidays away for more specific tuition; particularly with colour pencils. Sue works with water colours, colour pencils; acrylic and oil choosing the beautiful flowers in her garden and the buildings and scenery of East Kent as her inspiration.

Sue’s colour pencil work has been accepted for exhibition at the Society of Botanical Artists in London and she has also exhibited with Leisure Painter magazine at their Open Exhibition at Patchings Art and Craft Centre in Nottingham.

Sue usually exhibits her work with East Kent Art Society and enjoys being on the Committee of the Society.   Unfortunately she has experienced a period of ill health over the last year and a half but is looking forward to taking a more active part in the Society and exhibitions in 2023. Greetings cards which she produces herself from her work are sold in Sandwich at the Tourist Centre and at Quex Barn in Birchington.

Sue is pleased to undertake small commissions and some of her pictures of East Kent are hanging in private homes in Europe, America and Australia.”
