John Snow

John was born and educated in North London and worked for forty years as a graphic designer in medical and technical publishing. During that time he painted intermittently in watercolour, but the demands of work and family life prevented any real commitment to art.

On his retirement, he and his wife spent two years touring the United States in a motor home and on their return to England moved to Canterbury, where they have lived since 2004.

Since then he has been able to devote more of his time to painting and now produces a mixture of figurative and semi-abstract work, mainly in acrylics, which frequently reveal traces of his graphics background.

He exhibits regularly in various local venues with the Canterbury Society of Art, the East Kent Art Society and the Folkestone Art Society.
